Using Technology and 3 Steps to Hire Great Employees
Some companies rely on their executives gut reaction to hire key employees. Using a slightly improved method, many employers have interview teams who decide who is the best candidate for the job. The only problem is, study after study has shown that people pick candidates that are similar to them or that they like, rather than choosing the person who best fits the job. For example, if you are aggressive, you may think that only aggressive people are intelligent. An over simplification, but you get the idea.
Doesnt it make more sense to analyze the job description to determine the traits necessary for successful job performance? We now have the technology to do just that and using that technology, is the first step to hiring excellent employees.
Step two is to determine whether a candidate has these traits. Again, we use technology in the form of online assessments and automatically compare the candidate to the career position in your culture.
It occasionally happens that a candidate is perfect for the job. However, it is usually the case that it will be necessary to train, manage and develop new hires for maximum effectiveness. Step three takes the information generated from the first two reports and yields a training, management and development program for new hires. This performance goal plan is the basis of yearly evaluations.
One, Two, Three a simple and effective way to make sure that your employees return maximum productivity.
Lifestyle and Work Style Balance
With the pressures of the economy it is more important than ever that we do the one thing that makes life look and feel a lot better. It is simple, it doesnt cost anything and you are the only one in charge of it. What is this panacea? Get enough sleep. Its probably not news that 62 percent of all Americans dont get enough sleep but lets talk on a real personal level. Just because you can make it through on 5 hours doesnt mean its a good thing to do. It threatens health, relationships and the quality of work. Try going to bed early enough that you can easily get 6 to 8 hours and notice how much easier life is try it, youll like it.
Much performance & profitability success,
