1. Outsourcing - Is it for your firm?
Few things are impacting the growth of firms as radically as the shortage of qualified staff. One solution that many firms have adopted or are in the process of deciding whether to adopt is outsourcing of projects overseas.
It is a controversial topic but whatever you think about it, it is happening in more firms than you might realize.
I'm going to list some of the advantages and over the next month, I'd like you to send an email giving your thoughts - pro or con. I'll publish them without using your name to get a good dialogue going.
Here are some of the top advantages to outsourcing:
1. Provides competent staff
2. Impossible to find enough people locally
3. Work is done while American staff is sleeping so that projects move faster
4. Improves bottom line due to salary differentials
There are some negatives too - send in your thoughts. The most thought provoking idea will win a free teleseminar on outsourcing.
2. Life Biz
-
Take ten minutes a day to straighten out a desk drawer, corner of your desk or file. The return on that small investment will be much better organization.
-
Walk out of boring movies, turn off bad TV shows and refuse dull conversationslife is way too short to waste.

3. Personal Foundations
Are you aware of the first impressions that you make? Presence has to do with the proficiency you show in the human side of business. It is about your public attitudes and abilities. It includes your energy levels, your public appearance and your ability to communicate. One of the first things you can do to improve your presence beyond careful grooming is to hold your head high and maintain a relaxed readiness so that people find you approachable. Smile confidently, shake hands and make eye contact. If you would like a checklist of other ways to create a powerful presence, send an email to
say@youngbloodconsulting.com and I'll be happy to send it to you.
